  • Big Brothers Big Sister of Salina is gearing up for the return of our Glow in the Park Fun Run on April 24th starting at Lakewood Middle School.  This new course will begin and end at LMS and run through Lakewood Park.  If you have any students who are looking for 2.5 hours of volunteer hours, we would love to have their assistance. The entire event runs from 7-10 PM.  We are needing the bulk of our volunteers from 7:30-10:00 PM (may end sooner depending on speed of participants. Volunteers will be placed (in pairs) around our glow race course where they will direct runners and walkers through our 5K/1 mile course.  Each volunteer will be given some Glow in the Dark/LED accessories to wear along with reflective vests.  We are asking volunteers to arrive to LMS by 7:30 PM for instructions and placements. We are also looking for 2 students who would be interested in being our event photographers. This would be a great opportunity for students to work with both darker lighting and action shots.  These students would be given whatever jump drive/camera card they would need for these photos.  This would a first come first serve opportunity.  In the past we have given the photographers jump drives and they upload the photos to them or a Google Drive for us. For those who would like to volunteer they can call our office at 785-825-5509 or email Camid@bbbssalina.org
