For Students Taking a Class at SATC/KSU Poly

For Students Taking a Class at SATC or KSU PolyCAT

Congratulations on furthering your education by taking college classes through Salina Area Technical College (SATC) or KSU PolyCAT. Taking advantage of college class opportunities comes with added responsibilities as those courses do not match our schedule exactly.  This will require time-management and strong communication with your SHS teachers.

Starting Dates and College Specific Information

SATC classes offered at the high school begin on August 13th

SATC on-campus classes begin on August 19th

  • Return to your class at SHSS within 20 minutes after your class at SATC is complete. Example: If SATC class ends at 10:45 am, arrive at class before 11:05 a.m.
  • Return to SHS, park in the West parking lot and enter through the student entrance.
  • You will be missing classroom instruction. Develop a plan with your classroom teacher for the procedures to obtain missed instruction and/or assigned work. You are not excused from classwork responsibilities due to taking a college class and arriving late to your class.
  • If the schedule is such where your day begins or ends on the SATC campus, then you do not need to report to South High until your first scheduled SHS class begins, or you may leave after their last SHS class.

KSU PolyCAT on-campus classes begin on August 23rd.

  • If the schedule is such where your day begins or ends on the KSU PolyCAT campus, then you do not need to report to South High until your first scheduled SHS class begins, or you may leave after their last SHS class.

Thank you for showing professionalism as you begin/continue your post-secondary education.
