Adeline Ollenberger

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Adeline Ollenberger.  Adeline is the daughter of Melissa and Alan Mall, and sister to David Ollenberger and Amelia Mall.  At South High, Adeline is involved with Cheerleading, Band, National Honor Society, School Musicals, and One Act Plays.  She especially loves her chemistry classes because of the wonderful teachers.  Outside of school, Adeline has two cats, is a Salina Regional Health Center volunteer, and works at Pet Life and Tucson’s Steakhouse.  After graduation, she plans to attend KU to major in human biology. Owen Bulleigh

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Owen Bulleigh.  Owen is the son of Tim and Tina Bulleigh and brother to Colby and Jake Bulleigh.  At South High, Owen was a captain on the Cougar Football Team and is a member of the Cougar Baseball Team.  He also is a big fan of the school’s soy butter PB&J sandwiches.  Outside of school, Owen is involved with Relay for Life and considers himself probably the greatest disc golfer and fisherman in Kansas.  After graduation, he plans to attend Manhattan Area Technical College to earn an Associate’s Degree in Electric Power & Distribution.  Congratulations, Owen!

Brandon Fletcher

South High School’s Student of the Week is junior Brandon Fletcher.  Brandon is the son of Jim and Christine Fletcher and brother to James and Janie Fletcher.  At South High, Brandon is a member of the Cougar Football Team and the Cougar Wrestling Team.  His favorite teachers are Mrs. Gates and her JAG community service work, and Mr. Seibel and his construction work.  Outside of school, he enjoys going to the gym and playing paintball.  After graduation, Brandon plans to enlist in the United State Marine Corps.  Congratulations, Brandon!

Brandon Jeffries

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Brandon Jeffries.  Brandon is the son of Charlene and Jamie Jeffries and brother to Chloe and Ethan Jeffries.  At South High, Brandon has been a member of the Cougar Band, and was a captain on the Cougar Wrestling Team.  His favorite class has been Engineering, where he has enjoyed learning and using the CAD software.  After graduations, Brandon plans to attend a university with the eventual goal of earning a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering.  Congratulations, Brandon!

Stella Gestl

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Stella Gestl.  Stella is the daughter of Kim and John Gestl, and sister to Nash Gestl.  At South High, Stella has been a member of the Cougar Bowling Team, and her favorite subjects have been English and Science.  After graduation, she plans to attend Wichita State University to student Veterinary Science.  Congratulations, Stella!

Hannah Kipp

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Hannah Kipp.  Hannah is the daughter of Charles Kipp and Julie Russell.  At South High, Hannah works on the school newspaper, is a member of National Honor Society, and competes on the Cougar tennis and soccer teams.  She most enjoys participating in journalism, because she would like to teach journalism in the future.  After graduation, she plans to attend Kansas State University to study secondary education.  Congratulations, Hannah!

Abram Baier

South High School’s Student of the Week is junior Abram Baier.  Abram is a member of the South High JAG program, and works with JAG to find opportunities to give back to the community.  He enjoys the support he receives from his teachers at South High.  He is currently exploring, but undecided on his plans for after graduation.  Congratulations, Abram!

Kyle Iselin

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Kyle Iselin.  Kyle is the son of Max and Jody Iselin and brother to Sean Iselin.  He also has a dog named Penny.  At South High, Kyle is a member of Cougar Swim Team.  He enjoys most being with his friends and being a part of the swim team at school.  Outside of school, Kyle has worked at Family Animal Care and Ashley Home Store, volunteered at the Rolling Hills Zoo and in a local elementary classroom, and enjoys fishing, swimming, and kayaking in his free time.  After graduation, he plans to attend Barton Community College to study chemistry and join their swim team, after which he would like to transfer to Kansas State.  Congratulations, Kyle!

Griffin Peterson

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Griffin Peterson.  Griffin is the son of Darren and Kristine Peterson, and brother to Sydney and Campbell Peterson.  His family also has two dogs.  At South High, Griffin is a member of the Cougar Tennis Team and the Cougar Bowling Team.  Griffin’s favorite part of high school has been the welding and woodworking programs.  After graduation, Griffin plans to attend Barton Community College.  Congratulations, Griffin!

Kaydence Dickson

South High School’s Student of the Week is junior Kaydence Dickson.  Kaydence is the daughter of Elizabeth Dickson, and sister to Javon Dickson.  At South High, Kaydence is involved with Drama Club, New Dawn, and Link Crew.  She likes participating in all of the different activities provided by the school, and is thankful for teachers accommodating and understanding her busy schedule.  Outside of school, Kaydence is involved with Meals on Wheels, and loves volunteering at the Salina Community Theater.  After graduation, she plans to attend Kansas State University, with a goal of becoming a veterinarian, but she would also like to get a job with a film set crew.  Congratulations, Kaydence!

Maya Daily

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Maya Daily.  Maya is the daughter of Bradley and Christina Daily, and sister to Tess, Sophie, and Paige Daily, and Sophia and Daniel Ibarra.  At South High, she is a Debate & Forensics officer and co-president, the Politics Club secretary, and a member of National Honor Society.  Her favorite things about high school have been learning new material that has genuinely interested her, especially chemistry, and all of the work she has put into debate & forensics.  Outside of school, Maya is a student volunteer on the Salina Arts & Humanities Commission, and a volunteer at Rolling Hills Zoo.  After graduation, she plans to attend Kansas State University, with the eventual goal of enrolling in medical school.  Congratulations, Maya!

Keegan Exline

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Keegan Exline.  Keegan is the son of Linn and Curt Exline, and brother to Mohri, Maeci, and Allyson Exline.  At South High, he is a Student Council representative, a member of National Honor Society, SAFE club, and the Cougar tennis and swimming teams.  He is also a part of Junior Leadership Salina and Relay for Life.  Keegan’s favorite part of school is going to swim practice and getting to see Coach Brochtrup and the rest of the team.  Outside of school, he spends his free time playing disc golf with the boys.  After graduation, Keegan plans to attend Kansas State University to study Biomedical Engineering.  Congratulations, Keegan!

Elizabeth Franco

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Elizabeth Franco.  Lizzy is the daughter of Mary and Bobby Franco and sister to Michelle Franco.  At South High, she is the Student Council Chairperson of Activities, Tripodium Editor, Yearbook Editor, National Honor Society Treasurer, and is a member of the Cougar Tennis, Basketball, and Soccer teams.  Lizzy has also been the event lead for Relay for Life.  Her favorite part of school has been working on yearbooks, as she gets to put together a whole year into one book for students to look back upon.  When she is not in school, Lizzy can be found working at Tucson’s Steakhouse or playing with her dog Oso.  After graduation, she plans to attend Kansas State University and major in Mass Communication.  Congratulations, Lizzy!

Alexandro Palacios

South High School’s Student of the Week is junior Alexandro Palacios.  Alex is the son of Lorenzo and Liliana Palacios, and brother to David, Marcos, and Rodrigo Palacios.  At South High, he plays soccer and runs track, and his favorite subject is science.  Alex enjoys playing soccer because of all his friends on the team.  Outside of school, he enjoys hanging out with his family, his dog, and riding his Penny Board.  After graduation, he plans to attend Hutchinson Community College, and then possibly transfer to KU.  Congratulations, Alex!

Tiana Marion

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Tiana Marion.  Tiana is the daughter of Megan Hagaman.  At South High, she is the Debate and Forensics Vice President, a Link Crew link leader, and Writing Center tutor.  Outside of school, she volunteers at the Rolling Hills Zoo.  Tiana most enjoys the people and classes such as literature and creative writing at South High.  After graduation, she plans to attend Yale University to study anthropology.  Congratulations, Tiana!

Joselin Cuevas

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Joselin Cuevas.  Joselin is the daughter of Alvaro and Nohemi Cuevas, and sister to Karen Cuevas.  She also has two adorable dogs, a yorkie and a poodle mix, named Charlie and Brownie.  At South High, she is an orchestra member, a Book Club member, and does important work as an ESL translator.  Joselin says her teachers are awesome and are always willing to help and give great advice.  Outside of school, she serves as a regular pioneer and does volunteer work as a Jehovah’s Witness.  After graduation, Joselin is still exploring her options, but is interested in studying to become a virtual assistant.  Congratulations, Joselin!

Nikolas Highsmith

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Nikolas Highsmith.  Nikolas is the son of Tommy Highsmith and Pat Fry.  At South High, he has been a member of the soccer team and has been named a team captain.  He loves playing soccer as a way to compete and have fun with his friends.  Nik is thankful he is able to attend school every day to joke around with his friends, while also getting schoolwork done.  Outside of school, he works in his neighborhood helping mow lawns for those who cannot do it alone.  After graduation, Nik plans to attend college, but is undecided on where.  Congratulations, Nikolas!

Alexxa Nunemaker

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Alexxa Nunemaker.  Alexxa is the daughter of Angelica and Paul Nunemaker and sister to Cierah and Denise Nunemaker.  At South High, she is a member of National Honor Society, FCA, and FCCLA, along with playing tennis and soccer.  Alexxa loves going to school because of the positive environment at South High, and has truly loved her tennis team and how the game has brought her so many close friendships.  Outside of school, she volunteers with her CYO group, is a Relay for Life team captain, and loves her two dogs, Bella and Bently.  After graduation, Alexxa plans to attend Fort Hays State University to study Biology, en route to applying to Dental School.  Congratulations, Alexxa!

Kade Barber

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Kade Barber.  Kade is the son of Jill Barber and Brian Barber and brother to Kallon Barber.  He is a member of both the South High basketball and baseball teams.  Kade is active outside of school in his youth group and with Fresenius Dialysis Transportation.  He also spends his time hanging out with friends and going to the gym.  His favorite class in high school has been math with Mr. Ballenger, because he makes class fun and genuinely cares for students.  After graduation, Kade plans to attend Kansas State University to study engineering.  Congratulations, Kade!

Grace Allen

South High School’s Student of the Week is junior Grace Allen.  Grace is the daughter of Jessica and Matt Allen and sister to Emily, Katie, and Olivia Allen.  She is a member of both the South High Cross Country and Track teams, along with serving as South High Student Council junior class secretary.  Grace particularly enjoys the social aspect of school, getting to see her friends and teachers every day.  Outside of school, she volunteers with the Love, Chloe Foundation, works at YaYa’s Euro Bistro as a hostess and server assistant, and spends time with her family’s two dogs and pet cat. After graduation, Grace plans to study kinesiology en route to becoming an occupational therapist.

Miles Hammond

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Miles Hammond.  Miles is the son of Melanie and Jason Hammond and brother to Cale Hammond.  Miles is a member of the Cougar Swim Team and the Cougar Tennis Team.  He volunteers at his church and the Rock Steady Boxing group for people with Parkinson’s Disease at the YMCA.  At South High, Miles enjoys his science classes and participating in athletics.  After graduation, Miles plans to attend Wichita State University.  Congratulations, Miles!

Yaritza Vega

South High School’s Student of the Week is senior Yaritza Vega.  Yaritza is the daughter of Elizabeth and Homero Vega and sister to Eduardo and Ricardo Vega.  She is the South High Peppers Dance Team senior officer, the Cougar Twirlers section leader, a Link Crew leader, and a member of National Honor Society, the South High Writing Center, and South High Orchestra.  Yaritza has been a National and Senior competitor with Shannon’s Stars Twirling Club, and is a Sacred Heart Cathedral volunteer.  She enjoys being involved in all of her extracurricular activities, and loves her dog Snowy.  She appreciates all of her teachers who have made this school year delightful.  After graduation, Yaritza plans to pursue a degree in nursing at an undecided university.  Congratulations, Yartiza!
